Description:
“Elegy for an Afternoon” is a Nobilis game for 3-4 players. You will play a Familia of the newly enNobled; Sovereign Powers freshly minted and still dewy with the last flecks of the silver fire of Spiritus Dei. Unfortunately for you, Sovereign Duty calls, and you’ve been confronted with one of the greatest challenges any young Noble can face: Going to a PARTY. Specifically, you have been invited to a wake for your previous incarnations. And you have to give a speech! Awkward!! Plunge into a treacherous web of social manipulation, broken angels, and canapes!
Elegy for an Afternoon is a chance to dive into the dizzying world of the Sovereign Powers in a one-shot designed to get new and veteran Nobilis players (of which there are like…five) playing quickly and easily! We’ll do character creation, and an abbreviated version of Chancel and Imperator creation, and then thrust our newly-minted Nobles into a world of byzantine intrigue, miraculous power, and devastating social consequences, like not getting invited to the NEXT party!
Nobilis runs the gamut from the desperately silly to the monstrously serious, so I’m leaving the “game mood” open for us to find around the table!
