Description:

Let’s be real: publishing your work is HARD. However, it certainly is easier with a team! This panel is aimed both at folks new to the space looking to land their first project to bolster a portfolio and those who want to learn more about project management and collaboration. This panel of experienced project leads and TTRPG designers will discuss best practices for reaching out and assembling your dream team, and more importantly, bringing your project across the finish line.

Panelists

Dominique Dickey (they/them) is a speculative fiction writer and game designer. As the creative director of Sly Robot Games, they’ve created Plant Girl Game and Tomorrow on Revelation III. They contributed to the Nebula Award-winning Thirsty Sword Lesbians, and the ENNIE Award-winning Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel. Their novella Redundancies & Potentials is forthcoming from Neon Hemlock in 2024. Their short fiction has appeared in venues including Fantasy Magazine, Lightspeed Magazine, and Nightmare Magazine. They live in the DC area, where they’re always on the hunt for their next idea.

Lyla M. Fujiwara (she/her) is a Massachusetts-based game designer and project wrangler whose work focuses on complex characters and mechanics that drive the narrative. She is currently the Project Lead for the Stormlight Archive RPG and Jukebox: The Karaoke Musical TTRPG. She blogs about project management and writing collaboration on Substack at https://jarofeyes.substack.com/.

Nala J. Wu (they/them) is a proud queer/trans nonbinary art director (All the Witches, Evil Hat Productions) and award-winning illustrator (Apocalypse Keys, Uncaged Goddesses, Coyote & Crow) who works full time in tabletop RPGs. Besides art, Nala does voice acting, sensitivity/DEI consults, and makes appearances on TTRPG Actual Play streams & panels— most notable: the award-winning VtM actual play Itaewon by Night.

Taylor Navarro (she/her) is a Puerto Rican-British TTRPG project manager, game designer, and editor. Most notably, Taylor been a recipient of the Big Bad Con POC Scholarship (2022 & 2023) and currently works as the producer for Tales from Sina Una. When she’s not bringing games to life, Taylor can be found hording dice and playing video or board games with her two children.
