Description:

When you’re brought on as a TTRPG freelancer, one of the reasons is that you bring something uniquely you to the team – whether it’s your style, your creative approach, your beliefs about what’s important, your perspective on life, or (usually) all of the above. But once you’ve got a seat at the creative table, how do you make sure that what you care about comes through? On this panel, TTRPG freelancers will talk about how to create and manage the balance between what brings meaning to us personally and the work we do for others professionally. How do you judge which projects will work for you? What can you add or shift without breaking someone else’s toys? And where and how do you stand up for important change if you believe it’s needed?

Panelists

Bianca Bickford (she/her) is a Hispanic geek and Sr. Product Marketing Manager at Roll20. She creates bestselling D&D adventures and supplements for DMsGuild, Wizards of the Coast, MCDM, Ghostfire Gaming, and more. When she’s not adventuring in Eorzea or surviving in the Fog, Bianca hides out from the Texas heat.

Erin Roberts (she/her) is a writer of stories and games who enjoys bringing imagined worlds to life. She has worked as a freelancer for Wizards of the Coast, Paizo, Ghostfire Gaming, Kobold Press, Darrington Press, and many others on projects big and small, and was named a 2023 Diana Jones Award Emerging Designer.

Isis Wozniakowska (she/her) has done freelance for Paizo’s Starfinder and Pathfinder RPGs doing mechanics, lore, and prewritten adventures, and is currently working on her own personal small setting expansion for Scum and Villainy. Currently she is working on a master’s in Comparative Literature and looking at fantasy presentations of the Renaissance and Medieval world.

Rue Dickey (they/he/xe) is a mixed-race (Roma-Indigenous-Welsh), nonbinary, disabled creative living on unceded Kalapuya land . By day, they’re Paizo’s Marketing & Media Specialist, and by night, he moonlights as a freelance writer, designer, sensitivity reader, editor, performer, and more! Rue is proud to be a never-recovering circus goth.
