Description:

The Conservatory is game about creating a powerful, esoteric, and occult institution and telling its history. It’s a GM-less narrative world building game mechanically inspired by Anomaly, The Ground Itself, The Quiet Year, and i’m sorry did you say street magic.

The Conservatory could be a magical college, a mysterious church, a cursed performing arts school, an inscrutable greenhouse, a shadowy spy agency, a haunted film studio, an ominous hunting lodge, a notorious corporation, a bizarre hospital, a terrifying martial arts academy, or any sort of organization doing “the Work”, a craft influenced by otherworldly forces.

Players take on the roll of a mysterious shadow council that controls the fate of the Conservatory. Players take turn drawing tarot cards and answering associated prompts, introducing new aspects, characters, and developments to the history of the occult institution. The game plays out in eras that culminate in ominous events that shape history.
