Description:

We are Mycelium Youth Network, an Oakland-based climate justice organization. We use roleplay to help frontline youth reimagine the world they have inherited, beyond capitalism and colonialism, and toward a sustainable and joyful future.

Help us playtest adventures from our upcoming book! Written and illustrated by BIPOC creators, these stories are inspired by the neighborhoods, biomes, and radical history of Oakland, CA.

Each session is a 4hr one-shot. At the table, the players choose one adventure from a selection to play.

A taste of the stories offered:

The ghost of an indigenous resistance fighter troubles a vacant lot in the neighborhood. To help the ghost resolve its unfinished business, the Players delve into its memories of the apocalypse known as the California Gold Rush. Along the way, they are swept up in the complex tapestry of resistance, as all the beings of the land fight the settler onslaught – plant and animal, human and elemental, spirits big and small…

California Condors return to an off-limits parkland, after a century-long absence. They work hard to digest the many ghosts that now clutter the soil and water. Can their stomachs handle this much grief? The Players help a young Bruja evade both colonial specters and park rangers, as she reconstructs her ancestors” Condor magic from fragments scattered across the landscape…
