Description:
“Once a bustling boom town, Zion sprung up overnight, but as quickly as it had burst into life, suddenly everything fell silent. A vast barbed wire fence was erected around the town. There are rumors that there is something underneath it, deep down in that old mine, something that can grant your soul its greatest Wish.”
Zion 1898 is a twist of The Zone that draws upon themes of Wild West horror. This Twist changes the layout of locations and incorporates a deck of playing cards into the game. It was first published as part of the Book of Twists collection.
Play will take 2-3 hours. Characters are created at the table based on prompt cards drawn. While the theme of the game is horror, the extent of that horror will be agreed upon by everyone at the table (i.e. PG 13 vs R-rated). The Zone is a GMless game and the role of scene director will rotate.
The Zone is a play-to-lose game. Only one character will survive and it is randomly determined who. YOU SHOULD EXPECT YOUR CHARACTER TO EXPIRE. Please come with this in mind: you should be excited to figure out how your character’s story ends.
