Description:

In this session, we will sample the short fiction and games from Games to Bind Us: A Play Anthology about First Contact with Alien Life. After an overview, we will split our time in small groups choosing from a set of excellent short games or reading aloud from the short fiction by some fantastic sci-fi authors.

The anthology is split into four sections: They are Coming, The Moment, Our Life Together, and Our Life Apart. Each section, through a mix of short fiction and games, takes you through a different phase of contact: from the eager anticipation for their arrival, to the big meeting itself, and finally, to life in a world forever changed after they depart. Every game and story will point at some of the conflicting parts of our nature-the strange, the ridiculous, the awful, and the profound-that may emerge when encountering life from beyond the stars.
