Welcome to Big Bad Online 2021, our first online event! We’d kick things off with a land acknowledgment, thanking our generous supporters, reviewing the convention format, and a remembrance of Morgan Ellis.
- Ash Cheshire (fae/they) is a sculptor, game designer, a long-time Big Bad Con attendee & staff member.
- F. Helen Keeney (she/her) is an avid hiker and amateur musician. She has been playing story games since she was a small child. She believes that story games can increase our perspective taking and empathy.
- Kristine Hassell (she/her) is the Social Media and Community Coordinator for Big Bad Con. She also works as a Director of Panel Programming and Community Engagement for GeekGirlCon in Seattle. She plays in several long running RPGs and loves dim sum, K-pop, stickers, macarons, board/role playing/video games, fountain pens, red pandas, and dark wave. She is vociferous about the importance of better representation for non-white faces in media and has spoken on the subject at several conventions in the last decade.
- Sean Nittner (he/him) is the steward of Big Bad Con, Evil Hat director of projects, and host of twitch.tv/actualplay. He recently co-authored the game AGON with John Harper, a game of heroic action in a mythic world.
During the ceremonies, we’ll encourage folks to research voluntary land taxes to support indigenous people in your area. Here are some useful links to get you started:
