Description:

A year ago, the Orcs and their vile minions boiled up from the dark places in the earth, a relentless black-iron tide that was destined to sweep the Brightlands-dwellers from the cursed face of the earth. The foul sun would be blotted from the sky! The moon would dyed crimson with fresh-shed blood! The gods of Blood and Darkness would place their iron boots on the neck of the world, and bellow rage as they crushed all things under their tread!

Sadly, it was not to be.

Elves and humans turned back the tide, splintering spears and felling banners. The Orcs held, until the first banner fell – and then it was a rout. They ran, those champions of Blood and Darkness, and were chopped to dogmeat as they fled.

You are the survivors of Gruglak’s warband. Ahead of you lies the northern mountains, and safety in its mazy passes and many Orc-holes. Behind you advances a column of knights and rangers, mopping up the stragglers and intent on slaughtering the Orc to the last. Between your warband and safety, there’s a bridge – and it’s barricaded by trolls. Cross the bridge and find safety, or die.

I’ll bring a juicy selection of Orc characters with as sustainably-tangled a set of Beliefs and Instincts as I can manage. We’ll figure out who’s playing who, workshop Beliefs and Instincts if there’s a desire to do so, and off we go! You don’t need any knowledge of Burning Wheel to play, but if crunchy systems aren’t your bag, well – BWG is crunchy.

Fair warning, Burning Wheel Orcs are of the Mordor ilk, not the Azeroth ilk. Savage, treacherous, and brimming with hate.

Also fair warning, you’ll be listening to me talk in an orc-voice an awful lot.
