Description:
The year is 1879 in the boomtown of Cibola, Arizona. Cibola has never been the safest town, but it’s never been like this before. People are terrified as citizens are killed, seemingly at random, in their beds or travelling nearby. The deaths have been especially gruesome, and Western Union is threatening the mayor to withdraw plans to build rail lines through Cibola unless this gets cleared up.
Stumped, the Sheriff has put out a big reward for anyone who can help bring the murderers to justice. This is your big chance at getting rich—if you survive.
Bone Orchard is a slight mod of the 1979 Western-themed RPG, Boot Hill (2nd ed). Boot Hill is known for being Gary Gygax’s second foray into RPGs after D&D, as well as being extraordinarily lethal. With its simplicity of combat and deadliness, Boot Hill lends itself uniquely to tense horror or political games. Developed by Adam “Rutskarn” deCamp, Bone Orchard simply streamlines the character creation and combat rules while keeping the original feel and fragile characters.
