Description:
Bluebeard’s Bride is an investigatory tabletop roleplaying game of feminine horror, based on the Bluebeard fairy tale. In this game you and your friends explore Bluebeard’s home as the Bride, creating your own beautifully tragic version of the dark fairy tale. Investigate rooms, discover the truth of what happened, experience the nightmarish phantasmagoria of this broken place, and decide whether or not you are a faithful or disloyal bride. Players all play different fragments of the Bride’s personality
We will be playing a variant of the game, about a naive new teacher at a lonely boarding school. How will the Teacher submit to the demands of her superiors? Will she accept the Headmaster’s generous offer of marriage? Or will she refuse his kindness, falling prey to the corrupting desire for independence? Or perhaps—as much as she loves her work—will she find herself cracking under the pressure?
CONTENT: Possible themes include horror of all kinds (including but not limited to body horror, psychological horror, & gothic horror), oppression, misogyny, mistreatment and/or violence against children, graphic violence, explicit sexuality, depression, suicide.
NOTE: We will discuss boundaries at the start of the game and remove some of these themes. However, this is a horror game and a few of these themes will always be present.
