Sashay | Verb * 1: To walk in an ostentatious yet casual manner, typically with exaggerated movements. Noun * 1: (In American square dancing) a figure in which partners circle each other by taking sideways steps.
Snake | Noun * 1: a limbless, scaled reptile, often venomous. 2: a treacherous fellow.
Lynn Cupp has a problem, and that problem comes in a powder blue skirt suit with an American flag pin, perfectly permed hair, and bearing the name of Betsy Wood. The County Trustee is dead (God rest his soul), and the Republican party of Copperhead County, Tennessee, for which Mrs. Cupp is chairwoman, has held control of that seat since the before the 80s. But now along comes Mrs. Wood, a supposed independent whose politics are conservative even to Mrs. Cupp, and Wood is openly running for the Trustee’s seat, siphoning off GOP voters right and… well, right.
The Democrats don’t know who they’re floating yet, which is (to Mrs. Cupp) a blessed mercy, but they know for sure the Republican vote is divided. It’s only a matter of time before Cupp’s rival, the hard-pressed Ms. Brenda Garrett of the hard-pressed Copperhead County Democrats, finds someone attractive enough to run. And if Mrs. Wood is still in the race when the ballots are counted, there’s a chance, however slim, that the Democrats might win. And then Mrs. Cupp will lose her job.
So Lynn Cupp has a problem indeed, and her name is Betsy Wood. But to you, my friends, that ain’t a problem. That right there is an opportunity.

Copperhead County is a Forged in the Dark roleplaying game by Jason Eley about organized crime, political corruption, and life and times in the modern American South. Players portray a crew of outlaws working together to build a criminal empire by pulling dangerous jobs and navigating the power structures of the county, clawing their way up from the dirt to the top of the heap.
