Description:
The run between New Normandie and Algol takes three separate 200 hour jumps. It’s known space, an established space lane, so what could go wrong? The second jump spins down with everything green across the boards. Then signals picked something up in a routine mid-trip sweep. It was nothing familiar or standard, indecipherable yet repeating and definitely artificial. With all of the traffic through here it’s a wonder no one else had picked it up at some point. Unless it was new, or maybe very old… science thinks it might be an ancient Coalition ship from before the collapse, trade simply thinks it’s free salvage. So you micro jump and spend an additional 20 hours in normal space on approach. You get close and realize this is a potential retirement find! It’s huge and possibly alien, but has enough in rare materials alone to fill your holds half a dozen times over. It appears to be dead in space, low energy readings, no life indications, and no pressure either. Just an automated signal. So suit up and claim your fortune!
This hack of Traveller using the Apocalypse Engine is designed to create a style of play inspired by the original 1977 three little black book set of Traveller. Forget about the Third Imperium – it doesn’t exist, we’ll make the setting as we go. It’s a game of risk, exploration and self sufficiency in a galaxy full of wonders and dangers both human and alien!
