Description:
Dinosaur Island is a 2-4 player worker placement game, in which each player is competing to create the best theme park. Aspects of your park include various attractions (such as rides, merchandising stalls, and food/drink sales), along with the main event – live dinosaurs (cloned from various types of DNA which you must also compete to acquire). Of course, having dinosaurs around is dangerous, so you’ll also need to ramp up your security as you go – or else your biggest attraction may break free and start eating your guests.
Dinosaur Island takes roughly an hour to teach, and anywhere between 1-3 hours to play (the game length can be determined during setup as “Short”, “Medium”, or “Long” – akin to the objective selection system in Dead of Winter, for those familiar with that game). Game length will be chosen by the players after learning the game (though in my experience, the short game often feels too unsatisfying for most people).
