Description:
Your band of adventurers has just settled down for a well-earned rest in the village of Hillpicket when they hear a commotion outside the inn. Somebody is ringing a bell, and there is a muffled explosion! It quickly becomes apparent that this is not an attack on the village, but rather a mysterious Carnival. In the moonlight a train of wagons is unloading its contents, while acrobats entertain between flaring torches, and a woman in motley presses tickets into the hands of each sleepy villager as they emerge from their homes. A night of free entertainment? With magical trinkets and prizes to be won? How can you say no? It’d be foolish to resist!
Dark Carnival fantasy setting. Character level 3, beginner-friendly, exploration and combat adventure. Characters may experience madness effects. A variety of game mechanics will be explored to expose players to the system, no pre-existing game system knowledge required. Moderately based on an Adventurer’s League story from 2015.
