Description:

“All vile acts are done to satisfy hunger.” – Maxim Gorky

It has been five years since the Crash. There is no known “patient zero,” no single starting point. One day, people simply started dying from the Blight. The next day, those who died from the Blight started eating, infecting, and killing everybody else. The public went from skeptical to pleading to evacuation orders in less than two months. Someone high up decided the best option for America was to pull back to the East side of the Mississippi and hole up as best we could. Millions made it. Millions more – including you – didn’t.

You now live in the Loss. You are a non-person, unrecognized by the laws of the United States, living without help or hope. But you kept it together and helped establish a new home for yourself and others who couldn’t get out in time.

It has been five years, and you can’t do another five. So you decided to become a Taker, willing to head out past the protective walls of your enclave to do the work of people with money to spare. It’s dangerous, but it pays.

After all, the world might have ended, but the rent is still due.

RED MARKETS is a game of economic horror, where zombie apocalypse meets dog-eat-dog capitalism. ECON 101 is a beginner scenario designed to not only teach the mechanics of Red Markets to new players but also introduce them to the world of The Crash.

PLEASE BE AWARE the game may touch upon some uncomfortable issues such as racism, sexism, and human trafficking; as well as violence toward, and exploitation of, vulnerable individuals.
