Description:

An abridged version of a game inspired by the TV series Empresses in The Palace (2011) and other Chinese harem-focused dramas. The female characters in this game are loosely based upon significant women in power throughout Chinese history.

Prior knowledge of Chinese dynasties and the Imperial Palace is not required. We welcome Western players who will find in this LARP thematic similarities to The Handmaid’s Tale and Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire. This game explores loyalty and betrayal in the gendered performance and assumption of power.
