Description:
“You know what the hardest part about being a Morrow Project recruiter is?” “Finding people that straddle the line. You know how hard it is to find a stable, compassionate, caring person…who hasn’t started a family or has close community ties?
“Then there is the other side of the line. We ain’t putting on a bake sale here. We need killers, men and women that will not even blink at the idea of using force to protect or even further Morrow’s goals, all for the greater good.”
“Take me for example…a former Force Recon Marine with degrees in Psychology and Engineering, with a passion for Krav Maga and ceramics.”
“So yeah, I love my job…and deserve a raise.”
So…in the continuing BBC tradition of taking classic games with a great premise but horrible mechanics, and hacking them up with equal parts Diaspora crunch and tiddly wink spirit , we are tackling Morrow Project this year. Morrow Project is a post apocalyptic RPG about a dedicated paramilitary organization that knows the USA will be devastated by a nuclear war and volunteers to go in cryogenic sleep in hidden bunkers across the nation, to rise up 3-5 years after the nuclear chaos to rebuild a great nation.

Anybody that doesn’t, no worries at all. I’ll pontificate for 20 minutes on the MorrowProject backstory, while I serve drinks. Morrow Project always had a lot of holes in it’s creation and the big picture. It was always explained it away as compartmentiation and operational security. I was thinking it would fun to explore the story of Bruce Edward Morrow’s inner circle and hand picked staff. It’s a story that has never been addressed in the source material and it’s about time that vital piece of Morrow Project history was told.
I foresee strong doses of intrigue, mixed in with the usual mayhem and love of firepower.
For those interested there is lots of Morrow Project info on interwebs.
Just did my research. Yep… Combat Sociologist… Also this game was totally ripped off by a novel series (which replaced nuclear war with zombies, but who’s setup is otherwise Identical)
)
The Remaining by DJ Molles…..
Personally I’m not familiar but I plan on looking it up. From the description however I’m liking the aspect “Combat Sociologist” Or am I getting it wrong?
Crazy it is. How familiar you all with the Morrow Project back story and the many unanswered questions about its organization and foundation?
Looking forward to the Crazy.
Right… like “try something crazy” isn’t your default setting.
Damn, look at that crew… With player horsepower like this, I can either phone it in or try something crazy…decisions, decisions.
GOT IT!
I’ll pencil you in for a spot then, Eric.
No way. NO. WAY. You are my hero, Dennis Jordan!
