S.W.O.R.D.S: Sapphic Women Operating Robotic DefenderS
System: Thirsty Sword Lesbians
Player Age: 18+
You proud members of S.W.O.R.D.S are revered throughout the stellar sector as protectors of all that is good and just and gay. With the giant mechanical robots you pilot, you keep the people of Queertopia safe from cosmic catastrophes and hostile incursions from the Star Empire of Heteronormia. When tragedy strikes, who gets called in to save the day? S.W.O.R.D.S!
Thirsty Sword Lesbians is a game about kick-ass queers banding together against adversity, and supporting each other in being their authentic selves. Plus sometimes there’s smooching. S.W.O.R.D.S is a scenario that puts these heroes in giant anime-style mechs… In spaaaaace!
The tone of this game is some combination of goofy and earnest. Realistic people, with realistic problems, in an entirely unrealistic setting. No familiarity with the game system is necessary; all rules will be explained at the table and all required materials will be provided.
And Then We Were None
System: And Then We Were None (Playtest)
Player Age: 18+
Let’s tell the story of the end of a people. Whether the people ceased to be by war, assimilation, plague, cataclysm or otherwise, we start with the final scene and narrate the very end of their existence. Then we work backwards, each time setting a scene that precedes the last, until we have told the story of how this people were lost.
This is a GMless game, inspired by games such as Microscope and Dialect, and by the narrative structure of the film Memento. There are challenging elements to the game, and its unusual way of telling stories. But no prior experience is necessary, only an openness to improvisation.
The game’s tone is usually sombre, and can include just about any type of tragic content. However, there is a calibration at the start to make sure the players are all in agreement on how dark the story will get, and what sorts of content are to be included or excluded.
GM: Moe Poplar
