Description:
The X-card, Script Change, Lines and Veils, these are all tools for dealing with emotionally charged subjects in game. But no matter how careful you are, no one of these things works for everyone, and even if you’re playing traditional games, you can hit emotional landmines. Our panelists discuss these tools, and how they can be useful, as well as what to do when the inevitable happens. Mickey Schulz (M), Misha Bushyager, Brie Sheldon. Saturday at 4pm.

Mickey Schulz is a Geek Blogger with (lots) more than 10 years experience running SF/F conventions and games. She blogs at GeekGirlsRule.net about gaming, comics, movies, TV and books, from a feminist perspective. She has also taught Safer Sex classes for people re-entering the dating scene. She lives in the Seattle area with several fish, three cats, two housemates, one dog, and one husband. She is a firm believer in the Oxford Comma.
Misha Bushyager is a longtime gamer and GM and fledgling designer working on raising the next generation of geeklings. She’s written for Chill: SAVE, Lovecraftesque, Misspent Youth, and Dead Scare and served as an editor for #Feminism.
Brie Sheldon is a designer, writer, blogger, and editor for tabletop RPGs and larps, including Firefly Smuggler’s Guide to the Rim, Bubblegumshoe, Of The Woods: Lonely Games of Imagination, and as editor, Lusus Naturae and Viewscream 2nd Edition. They are primarily a story game player, but also play more traditional games like Shadowrun 3rd Edition. They have written the safety mechanic Script Change, and are currently working on the rural shapeshifter game Turn. Their blog, briecs.com, features interviews of game designers, players, and other creators, as well as Brie’s thoughts on design and projects.
