Description:
Girl Underground follows a 12 year old girl’s journey of self-discovery through a strange and wondrous land with her equally strange and wondrous companions. Upon this journey, she will complete a quest, rebel against society’s manners, and learn about herself as a result.
She will visit fantastical locations filled with odd characters, share heart-warming moments with her companions, and return home at the end of the day – changed forever.
While a story of empowerment, this game touches upon society’s toxic expectations. We will have a tone and content discussion at the start of the game to decide which parts of society we wish to rebel against.
And while this game and description use ‘she/her’ to describe our protagonist at the beginning, these pronouns may change to reflect the story – if that’s a theme we want to explore together. Again, we will decide this together before the game.
Inspiration includes Every Heart a Doorway, Amongst the Sticks and Bones, Alice in Wonderland, Labyrinth, Spirited Away, and other whimsical portal fantasy.
