We all love RPGs and tabletop games! For many, it’s a dream to make a living working in the field. However, doing something you love tempts you to go overboard and work yourself past reasonable limits. We’ll illuminate some of the challenges people face working in a field the love discuss how to take care of yourself.


James D’Amato (he/him) is the president of the One Shot Network and host of actual play Shows like “One Shot” and “Campaign.” He’s also the author of The Ultimate RPG Character Backstory Guide and co-designer of Noisy Person Cards. He loves almost every role-playing game and wants specifically you to have a good time playing.

Brittanie Boe (she/her) is a writer, photographer and video producer who founded Be Bold Games in 2018. Her passions include her cat Dax, her daughter Hailey, bouldering, and going on adventures to capture the perfect photos on her camera. She writes about her perspective as a Latinx woman in gaming and is passionate about intersectional feminism as well as queer inclusion and advocacy. When she’s not tweeting she’s off in the mountains playing ukulele and singing at the top of her lungs.

Tanya C. DePass is a long time gamer, fangirl, fan-ficcer and spawn point of the #INeedDiverseGames hashtag. She enjoys talking, reading and writing about gaming diversity, feminism, race & racism, fandom as a way of life and many other topics. She often streams on twitch.tv/cypheroftyr, as well as on Rivals of Waterdeep, and she’s co-developing the Green Ronin RPG based off N.K. Jemisin’s Broken Earth Trilogy. Squick, streams, and storytelling. A snailologist by training, Darcy Ross is the Community Relations Coordinator for Monte Cook Games. She works to welcome new people into the hobby, and braves the byzantine world of Twitch streaming to see what this strange new platform can bring our hobby. She writes for Gnome Stew, contributed to the transhuman dating show RPG Singularity, and is playtesting her first larp, An Empty Page.

Carlos Luna is the Content Producer for Roll20. He currently produces the D&D podcast/stream The Dungeon Rats and is a cast member for Rivals of Waterdeep and Jace Beleren Must Die. Carlos also produces roleplaying focus videos on his YouTube channel CarlosCrits. When he’s not playing games or making videos, you can find him performing improv shows around Chicago.

Surena Marie is an actor, and podcaster living in Chicago. She has studied and performed with The Annoyance Theater, IO Chicago, Comedy Sportz and the Musical Conservatory at Second City. Her past credits include Splatter Theater! (Annoyance), CSZ House TeamChaos (CSZ Chicago) and Dundee: The Hip Hopera (Stage 773). You can find her voicing silly characters on the actual play podcasts Rivals of Waterdeep and The Dungeon Rats or guesting on a wide variety of TTRPG podcasts, streams and shows.
