Description:

WHAT IS MONSTER DRAFT?
Weird fantasy post-apocalyptic sandbox hexcrawl.
Amnesiac monster soldiers, abandoned by their mind-controlling overlord, wander scrambled landscapes.
Sandbox = no play agenda imposed by game.

HOW DO YOU PLAY?
Character powers and abilities are drafted from a small but colorful set of cards.
Map and encounters are designed in play using a novel card oracle. Questionable outcomes are governed by draws from the same oracle.
We all play monsters, we all GM. Each region on the map has its own GM.

WHY PLAY MONSTER DRAFT?
Evocative oracles and detailed procedures are designed to teach GMly improvisation and judging skills.
Built for maximum participation: everyone has a role in every scene. Trying to break away from RPG-as-series-of-one-on-one interactions.
Card-driven character creation and programmed scenario startup lead to very fast game startup times; ideal for convention or one-shot play.
