Description:

Ma Nishtana: Why is This Night Different? Is a GM-less, dice-less storytelling TTRPG inspired by the Jewish holiday of Passover developed by Gabrielle Rabinowitz and Ben Bisogno, successfully Kickstarted in April 2022.

Together, we will breathe new life into the Exodus story by embodying our own versions of key characters and navigating the emotional ties between them. We take turns guiding a series of role-played and narrated scenes, each accompanied by a ritual, which culminate in the deliverance of the Hebrew people from peril. The path we take to get there will seem both familiar and completely new as we weave our own story from the threads of tradition.

While the base game is set in ancient Egypt, there are also alternate Backdrops available for the story, so we might fight for freedom from Human imperialism on a distant planet or try to organize a union in a shipping fulfillment center.

Ma Nishtana is for everyone: Jews, non-Jews, and the “Jew-ish”. Pull up a seat- you are invited!
