Description:
You have all gathered, the eligible ladies and gentlemen of your town, for a night of convivial dancing and gossip, with no ulterior motives whatsoever. Still, it is a truth acknowledged by all that dances lead to understandings between partners.
This larp will recreate the feel of a Jane Austen ball utilizing, in part, the medium of set dancing. Plots will center on romance, class structure, and familial relations.
Most participants will need to participate in simple relatively sedate dances, which involve touching of the hands and shoulders as part of the dance. All dances will be taught before play begins in a workshop. A small number of non-dancing roles will be made available for those with mobility or touch issues, and a survey will be sent out as part of casting that addresses this. Although characters will be gendered, players of any identity are welcome to play any character.
Tea and light refreshment will be provided by the assembly hall.

I was Miss Wright—The Burden.
After playing, I really want to match up real names with game roles so I can appropriately recognize everyone next year!
I was Miss Mary Brown — The Practical
yell if you get a extra spot and still need females!
If you aren’t in something else at the time, feel free to drop by and check if we have no-shows.
There are three slots left in this game, and if possible I would like to fill them with people willing to play Ladies as characters. Please keep this in mind if you are considering signing up.
I am going to send out a survey as soon as we fill to figure out IC gender parity so I can correctly structure dances and plots. Ideally we’ll have at least 4 ladies / followers or gentleman / leaders
Crossing my fingers that spots stay open for Phase 2!
I hope so too!
