Description:
Scientists say it’s an active volcano. UFOlogists say it’s a landing site for aliens. Mystics say it’s a lost colony of a fallen civilization. The Locals say it’s good skiing.
Mount Shasta dominates the skyline and captures the imagination, but for the folks who live at the mountain’s foot, its strangeness is their normal. Welcome to a town where the place that sells healing crystals is sandwiched between the hardware store and the bait shop. Welcome to a town where your high school job puts you face-to-face with a sasquatch and your math teacher claims to be a reincarnated Lemurian. Welcome to Shasta Weird.
Shasta Weird is a game of small town Cascadian weirdness. It draws its cues from sources like Gravity Falls and Stranger Things as well as the many real world stories about the mountain. It uses the version of the in-development Cortex Prime rules that are available to backers of the recent Kickstarter campaign and the GM is happy to teach the system to new players.
Game held in the Teen Room (Contra Costa Salon II). This game is open only to teens for the first two weeks of registration. After that it’s open to everyone. For more on teen games and events see Teens at Big Bad Con
