Description:
Your Warden team is dispatched to Uranus to investigate a distress call from a hydrogen miner. The ship’s captain claims that pirates took over his ship and he’s fighting to gain control. His last garbled message was, “What the hell? Are those pyramids? There are pyramids on Uranus…”
That’s impossible. Uranus’ surface isn’t actually a surface at all, but a mix of water, ammonia, and methane in a thick liquid form. There can’t be pyramids on Uranus.
The Void is a gritty hard sci-fi Lovecraftian horror setting where the characters are Wardens, people tasked by the United World Council to to ascertain the newly awakening cosmic threats to human life across our solar system, to learn everything they can about them, fight them wherever they are found, and hide their existence from the public. Mankind has spread throughout our solar system, but there’s no FTL travel. In the far reaches of space, help is months away, if it’s coming at all.
Trigger warnings: Some sections of this scenario contain descriptions of violence. Also themes of helplessness and isolation pervade the setting.

Hi Gennaro,
Thanks for asking. I’d recommend against reading Secrets of The Void. It’s primarily a GM resource that the PCs probably don’t know. Instead get The Void Core book. It’s PWYW (aka free) on DriveThruRPG. Matthew Grau, we created the game, offers this book for free to get the game into people’s hands with the lowest possible barrier. Read introduction, starting on page 16. This will give you a real feel for the setting.

Thanks, Matt. I purchased The Void CRB as per your suggestion.
Also, I am writing this while playing in a Pathfinder game with Tom Idleman and Mateo Chamberlin whom you might know from BBC or Dead of Winter (or so I’m told).
Matt,
I have been curious about The Void, RPG setting. So far, I read a short vignette involving some of the characters, but nothing else.
I found a link to a resource (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/128835/The-Void–Secrets-of-the-Void?src=also_purchased), and I was wondering if it would be okay to read. I’d imagine that the PC classes might have some in-game knowledge, but I wanted to ask ahead of time to see what you think.
Gennaro
Dang, now it looks like the system rejected overflow players. Still, there’s a lot of shifting going on, so keep looking for an opportunity to jump in. Would be great to have you
Hey Michelle Chapman-Thurber, that’s awfully nice of you. Looks like the system will take 2 ‘standbys’. I’m guessing that it shifts people if anyone drops out. Just a thought…
LOL NM. I’m a goob. Dropped it meself. Couldn’t have Regina not getting in after she is driving so far to join us. 🙂
Please unbook me and take Regina Jordan instead!
