Description:

On June 8, 1936, when newsreels captured a human being flying over the skies of Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, Nazi Germany revealed the first human with super-powers to the world. Soon, other super-humans, or Talents as they came to be called, began emerging all over the world. Some rejoiced at this marvel of human potential. Others despaired as man appeared to have found his most destructive weapon yet: himself. Humanity enters the Super Age as the shadow of war looms over the world.

On July 7, 1936, the Spanish Civil War begins. General Francisco Franco leads a coalition of Fascist and reactionary elements to overthrow the government of the Spanish Republic. With the military backing of Hitler and Mussolini, Franco’s forces march inexorably upon Madrid, the capital of the Republic, spearheaded by Nazi Germany’s new crop of Talent super-soldiers.

It is now January, 1937. Madrid is under siege. Holding the line against Franco’s forces is a rag-tag force of police, army, foreign volunteers, and worker militia, representing a divided coalition of liberals, socialists, anarchists, and communists.

Among these defenders is an equally divided band of Republican Talents, a disparate group of men and women have not even learned to fully control their powers… or trust each other.

As the bell tolls for the death of the Spanish Republic, a final battle cry goes up among the defenders of Madrid: “No Pasaran!”

They shall not pass!
