Description:
While the tabletop games industry allows professionals many benefits, such as a flexible work schedule and greater creative freedom, narrative designers may desire to transition to applying their practice in the digital games industry. Transitioning from Analog to Digital Narrative Design is a panel with the objective of providing mid to senior level tabletop narrative designers with information and tools to help them make a successful jump. The panel will provide insights on the role differences between the two industries, practical ways to leverage their experience in tabletop, and insights from panelists.
The panel will have three main components:
A presentation with information pulled from the panelists’ experiences as well as interviews conducted with professionals in relevant positions in the digital games industry, such as narrative design, production, and recruiting,
Questions prescripted into the presentation as well as come from an open QA with audience members at the end of the presentation.
Written materials designed for audience members to apply the presentation’s learnings in their careers. Audience members will be given a document with all information presented.
