Description:
The mornings that they part ways always begin the same. The Fisherman sharpens the Wife’s knives for oyster and abalone diving. The Wife mends his nets and polishes his boats. When they part ways, they exchange 8 words that weave speculative and fanciful stories about their time apart.
On this morning, before the Wife begins her day diving for abalone and pearls, she watches the Fisherman’s boat sail off away. While they are apart, the Fisherman and Wife tend to catch the attention of otherworldly beings who try to seduce, possess, supplant, devour, or serve them. In turn, the Fisherman and Wife attempt to seduce, merge with, destroy, steal power, or enslave the ghosts and demons who prey upon them. When the Fisherman and Wife reunite, one or both of them may not be who or what they appear to be, but they work it out. Nothing a little exorcism can’t fix. Something’s not right from the start this time, though. The Wife decides to swim after her Fisherman. For once, being a magnet to demons and sea monsters will come in handy.
This is a card-based story game. The “Where have you gone, my love” run of Tales of the Fisherman’s Wife is for 4-8 players. We’ll bring on the weird and the maritime creepy as we tell the story of how the Wife finds her Fisherman with the help of pirates, ghost ships, sirens, and maybe a kraken or two.
