This office is faced with a situation where discretion is tantamount. An obvious FBI presence would only exacerbate an already tense situation. Folk Singer and Joker Rights Activist Betty Paloma is missing. She is due to perform on stage for the Big Sur Folk Festival in three days. There has been no ransom note.
Using the conscription act outlined in the S.C.A.R.E directive (EC 1267/FT) we have put together a team of “enhanced” civilians that should allow you to investigate the disappearance of Mrs. Paloma (While the members of the team do not make an ideal fact-finding force, this office determined that they constitute your best statistical chance of success.)
We ask that you and your team determine the best course of action for retrieving Mrs. Paloma as discreetly as possible. Mrs. Paloma is a very popular artist, if she is not at the concert, we may have a Joker riot on our hands.
