Description:

“Day by day the Black Sun’s Unholy Light worms its way closer and closer to freedom as the last layers of the earth are corrupted. And yet The Cursed dig. Not because they hope to escape… Not because they hope to find a better life… But because they have forgotten what it means to do anything but, dig, fight and flee. Life itself can be a curse.”

James MacGeorge’s Black Sun Deathcrawl is a one-shot module that uses modified DCC rules to take players on a dark, nihilistic, underground, crawl through the question of what it means to be human in the face of the Existential condition.

If you CANNOT escape the eternal, indifferent Wrath of the Black Sun and the Terrible Thoughts it engenders, what meaning is there in your Cursed un-life?

Additional game descriptors: psychological, introspective, amoral

*Content warning: This game aims to stare into the Existential Abyss through the vehicle of role-playing. It is explicitly nihilistic and explores the dark side of being human. It explicitly questions both morality and meaning. The game may lead to scenes of graphically violent or amoral behavior. Players who cope with depression, have suffered abuse or who have any form of PTSD may find this game triggering.
