Description:
You are a late blooming mutant without the bona fides or the connections to get into the posh Xavier School for Mutants. Your dreams of heroism and acceptance as part of a top eschalon X-team are just that… until you get a call from Lamont Latrobe (“EL-EL”), the manager/agent that is putting together the latest iteration of “The X-Statix” (the GED of mutant education) at their Malibu hillside bungalow. He assures you that this is your chance for stardom and fortune, and, of course, to make a difference. You will train under the direction of mutant royalty, the icon of speed himself: Quicksilver (rumored to have been stuck with this gig after losing a bet). Should you and your cohort bond, gain command of your powers, and make an impression in fickle Los Angeles, you may even be able to graduate to a legit X-team (or at least X-Factor), or possibly set yourself up financially with royalties from action figure, movie, and video game licensing. The fate of the previous X-Statix team, killed to the last mutant, has not been disclosed.
“Expectations of Greatness” is a super hero game of (lights, camera…) action and consequences, is powered by Fate Accelerated, and run by the GM dynamic-duo of Dr. Mage (Kevin Marshall) and The Demolissionary (Manuel Serpa).
