System: Fiasco

Players: 2 to 5

Player Age: 13+
A blistering game about horrible people making horrible mistakes. Tell your own story in the spirit of Fargo, Office Space, Girls Trip, or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and watch your characters fall victim to hubris, jealousy, misery, and whatever else you decide to throw in their way.

GM: W Lee

System: Follow

Players: 2 to 4

Player Age: 13+

Follow is a game where you sit down with your friends and play characters working together to achieve a common goal: your quest.

The quest you pick decides the kind of game you’ll play. You could start a rebellion, cure a disease, slay a dragon (or a cat), or get your candidate elected. If it’s something people can work together to accomplish, it could be a quest.

Will your characters stay united or will their differences tear them apart? Will they triumph or will their hopes go up in flames?

System: Microscope Chronicle

Players: 1 to 3

Player Age: 13+
Microscope Chronicle is a game where we tell the history of a single object (a sword of destiny, an elegant sailing ship, a mysterious temple on a far-flung planet) and the stories of those people whose lives intertwine with it. As with the original Microscope, we build the history fractally, out of chronological order.

Saturday 2-6pm (4-hr games)

GM: Alan Scott

System: Urban Shadows

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 18+
The City Hungers. Will You Feed It?

The streets bleed shadows as the supernatural politics of the city threaten to swallow you whole. Will you die a hero—a savior for those who have never had enough—or live long enough to become the villain? Will you fight the darkness…or give in for power? The choice is yours.

Urban Shadows is an urban fantasy tabletop roleplaying game in which mortals and monsters vie for control of a modern-day city, a political battleground layered just under the reality we think we know. Vampires, faeries, hunters, and wizards fight to carve out a piece of the streets and skyscrapers, ready to make deals with all those who have something to offer.

System: Monsterhearts 2

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 18+

By the time they hit adolescence, most people have gotten over their fear of the dark. They spend their midnight hour on gushy phone calls, diary ramblings, and wet dreams. They fall asleep peacefully, assured that the shadows hold no monsters.

But the shadows do hold monsters. You know because you’re one of them. Wickedness dwells within your heart, hunger courses through your veins. High school weighs on you and teen drama puts you on edge, but you have power. What do you do next?

Monsterhearts 2 lets you and your friends create stories about sexy monsters, teenage angst, personal horror, and secret love triangles. When you play, you explore the terror and confusion of having a body that is changing without your permission.

System: Shasta Weird (Cortex Prime)

Players: 3 to 5

Player Age: 13+

Scientists say it’s an active volcano. UFOlogists say it’s a landing site for aliens. Mystics say it’s a lost colony of a fallen civilization. The Locals say it’s good skiing.

Shasta Weird is a game of small town Cascadian weirdness. It draws its cues from sources like Gravity Falls and Stranger Things as well as the many real-world stories about the mountain.

System: Rhapsody of Blood (PbtA)

Players: 3 to 5

Player Age: 13+

Every generation the blood moon rises, and the castle exalts a villain with its dark gifts. They shall command its legions, use its powers to twist reality, and seek the godlike power of the unholy grail.

You’re here to stop them. Your bloodlines have fought the castle since its first emergence, and that legacy has granted you endless tenacity, strange powers, or unbreakable faith. Together, you will root out the wards of the castle where they have infested the mundane world, slay the acolytes of the castle’s regent, steal their dark power for your own and banish the regent and the castle with them.

GM:  Daniel Bayn

System: Samsara

Players: 2 to 4

Player Age: 18+
Occult action and adventure on the streets of Mumbai, India. Imagine Supernatural or The X-Files getting a Bollywood reboot, but with way more hungry ghosts and cannibal-sorcery.

System: Wushu

Players: 2 to 4

Player Age: 18+
We’ll improvise a game of over-the-top Hong Kong action using a popular setting of your choice, from Star Wars to The Matrix.

GM: David Schmitt

System: Doskvol Riots (Blades in the Dark)

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 18+

A game of daring scoundrels in a dark and haunted post-apocalyptic world. The city of Doskvol is on the brink of explosion. Prisoners are forced to mine the Mire, or face horrors of all kind scavenging the Deathlands. Unions are crushed by foremen and their brutes, backed by the full force of the Bluecoats. Meanwhile nobles enjoy excess wealth and luxury on the backs of citizens.

The fuse has been lit on this powderkeg. Will you profit from the chaos, or be consumed by it?

System: Epyllion (PbtA)

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 13+

Play dragons in a dragon-centric world, in a game Powered by the Apocalypse. You are the children of Dragonlords who need your help to investigate rumors, solve problems, and discover the truth of a growing evil in the land. You and your clutchmates will protect Dragonia from the Darkness, thought ultimately vanquished long ago, and discover the true value of friendship.

The Moonbeam Festival can not happen without a shipment of cottonhoney. What could have delayed it? Go, find out what is wrong and fix this now!

GM: John Hawkins

System: Dungeon World

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 13+
…and so it was, appropriately enough, that you found yourself in Terminum, at the end. But the back end of nowhere is the same as anywhere else — nobody’s hiring baristas, and some piker with more money than aptitude wants answers to dangerous questions. Sure, “nobody’s ever come back” from Banwen’s Barrier, but really doesn’t that just mean corpses you can loot without staining your sword?

System: Reality Storm (Fate Accelerated)

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 13+
“Sometime today… Later tomorrow… Early next week… the world began to end.” Maybe you were already here, or maybe you stepped through after the Reality Storms began. Maybe soon you can organize enough to hunt down the stelae that hold these leeching hellmouths latched to the surface of Gaia, but for right now you’re just trying not to get eaten by a velociraptor.

GM: Monte Lin

System: Masks (PbtA)

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 18+

It’s a Ti’ig alien invasion, but you’re sidelined! You are assisting in the city’s evacuation, but you are under orders to join the rest of the citizens, because “you’re just a kid.” While the Tier 1 superheroes are shutting down Ti’ig Hatcheries and destroying Slampods, you see a Ti’ig, all eyeball, tentacles, and powered armor, shapechange into a human and merge into the crowd.

The adults are too busy. “No chatter on this comm!” It’s up to you to uncover and stop this new threat.

System: Monsterhearts 2 (PbtA)

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 18+

On the evening before the big Homecoming game, the students of Hunter High burn an effigy of their rival’s mascot, the Witch. It’s a night of partying, drinking, and messing around (which explains why HH never wins their game).

Everyone attends even though it’s prohibited and illegal. Jocks, nerds, goths, freaks all come together to burn the Witch.

It is a night of revelation, exaltation, and deception, perfect for little monsters like yourselves.

GM: Shaun Hayworth

System: Mouse Guard

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 13+

“Hail all those who are able, any mouse can, any mouse will, but the Guard prevail.”

The Mouse Guard are weather watchers, protectors, scouts, and pathfinders who travel the Mouse Territories to aid those in need. You are a patrol of Guardmice, dispatched to discover the fate of a patrol who has gone missing. Have they fallen prey to wild animals? Foul weather? Or worse, have the Weasels resumed their war against the Mouse Territories?

System: Torchbearer

Players: 3 to 4

Player Age: 13+
The jeweled shield of the Dwarven hero, Sendic Ironkeg, would fetch a fair price to the right buyer. Previously lost to history, your band of adventurers have discovered the location of Sendic’s final resting place. Riches await for those brave enough – or foolhardy enough – to seek them. So provision yourselves, check that your weapons are clear in their scabbards, and light your torches as you descend into Sendic’s tomb!

GM: W Lee

System: The Soul Diamond Job (Star Wars: Age of Rebellion)

Players: 3 to 5

Player Age: 13+
It is a dark time for the Rebellion. After the fall of the Death Star, the Empire has redoubled its efforts to wipe out the Alliance and bring an end to all opposition to their rule. In the midst of this hunt comes news to Rebel Intelligence that a Soul Diamond of House Madine, long rumoured to contain information about a superweapon, has reappeared in an auction house on the fringes of Hutt Space. The PCs are the best available crew, sent to obtain the gem by any means necessary.

System: Harry Potter and the Force Awakens (Fate Accelerated)

Players: 3 to 5

Player Age: 13+
A generation after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione Granger leads the Resistance of the Phoenix against a resurgent Death Eater movement. In the face of an apathetic Wizengamot and fierce Dark Arts practitioners, it’ll take a new band of witches and wizards to find missing Auror Harry Potter.

GM: Yoshi Creelman

System: Dialect

Players: 2 to 4

Player Age: 13+

Dialect is a GM full story game about an isolated community, their language, and what it means for that language to be lost.

We’ll be playing with the Wolf Pack backdrop, where we are a pack of wolves who explore, hung and play together in our forest. There are humans in houses beyond the edge of the wood. Sometimes we can smell the meat they cook and see the smoke billowing in the air. At night, we hear howls from near those houses. They sound trapped. Quieted. Controlled. We are not trapped. This is our pack. We will protect it.

System: Good Society

Players: 3 to 5

Player Age: 13+
Good Society is a game of balls, estates, sly glances, and turns about the garden. At least, on the surface. Underneath this, just as Austen’s own work, it is a game of social ambition, family obligation and breathtaking, heart-stopping and deeply repressed longing.

How It Works

This year we will be using a model closer to what is used at GenCon and Origins than at Go Play. Our purpose is to give players a few hours of fun while presenting games they might not be familiar with. In brief:

  • People registering to play will receive a GoD boarding pass from the host.
  • Each GM for the session will have a menu indicating the games they are offering.
  • At the start of the time block, the host will call boarding passes; we’re using a system that randomizes boarding passes while giving priority to people who have not played yet.
  • People whose boarding passes are called will pick a spot from the games that have not reached capacity at the moment.
  • GMs and their players sit down at their table and enjoy

Please swing by at least 10 minutes before games start to talk with a Games on Demand host. They can tell you more about what’s on offer and answer any questions about the games. They’ll also give you a boarding pass to get into games in the next slot.

On the hour the hosts will ask everyone to make some space and then start calling out boarding passes. When your boarding pass is called, give it to the host. You will be able to select a game from the available list.
