Description:

Scene is a game about creating and exploring a social scene — anything from a group of fans of heavy metal in Iowa in the 80’s to a Discord server all about Undertale. The system encourages players to explore relationships not only between people, but between the guiding aesthetics, emotions, and locations of the scene chosen at the start of the play. Each player will add fictional elements to the game, and moments of play focus on describing details of those elements. A session will be more about the interplay of themes, and will likely not have a strong narrative or plot.

Safety in Scene is based around the inclusion and control of the fictional elements proposed at the table. Anyone can veto an element they don’t want in the game and players can also declare sole ownership over concepts that they want to explore but that may touch on topics they feel need to be handled carefully. Due to the high level of player input, focus, genre and mood are determined by the individual play group.
