Description:

Shemesh is a collaborative roleplaying game where players work together to imagine utopia through a solarpunk lens.

Welcome to Shemesh—the city of light! Built over the remains of an old, rusted city, Shemesh is a utopia of innovation, sustainability, and peace. This beautiful and diverse city is divided by a river, from which the city draws its water and some of its energy, but the main source of power for Shemesh is the sun. The city is designed to capture as much light as possible, with open architecture and beautiful glass panes in nearly every building. Rooftop gardens, solar panels, and luminescent moss provide a colorful and serene backdrop for this busy city, making it spectacular to live in. The real gems of Shemesh, however, are its inhabitants—the caring, beautiful, flawed people who live within its walls.

I’m very excited for this game. Are there specific touchstones you have in mind? I know the genre more through images than stories.

Hi Jennifer! I am also mostly familiar with the genre through images- particularly, the solarpunk tag on tumblr and the art of Julie Dillon, which were both huge inspirations for the game. I was also reading a webcomic called The Substitutes while doing final edits on it, but I haven’t looked at it in a while, so I’m not sure what direction it went.

      tldr: you should be fine!
